Opportunity at Every Stage of Life
Pine Grove Association develops programs that help people build skills, relationships, confidence, health, economic opportunity, and stronger connections to their community.
Rather than focusing on one age group or one challenge, PGA takes an intergenerational approach to community development.
Our programs are organized around five areas of opportunity.
Youth & Education
MAGIC
The Madison Area Global Innovation Collaborative (MAGIC) helps prepare middle-school youth for school, careers, leadership, and an increasingly interconnected world.
Through Saturday Academies, summer experiences, and other enrichment opportunities, participants engage in:

MAGIC helps young people develop more than academic skills. We want participants to develop confidence, curiosity, resilience, leadership, and a greater understanding of the possibilities available to them.
Women, Girls & Intergenerational Leadership
EmpowerHer
EmpowerHer connects girls and women across generations through leadership development, mentoring, economic empowerment, wellness, and shared learning.
The initiative creates intentional opportunities for girls, working-age women, and senior women to exchange knowledge and experiences while developing skills that strengthen themselves, their families, and their communities.
Programming may include financial education, career development, entrepreneurship, leadership, health and wellness, mentoring, civic engagement, and intergenerational dialogue.
Our goal is to create a community of women and girls who are prepared to lead, support one another, and expand opportunity for the next generation.
Workforce & Economic Opportunity
Economic mobility is essential to strong families and communities.
PGA connects residents to workforce preparation, career exploration, skills development, entrepreneurship, financial education, and resources that can help people move toward greater economic stability.
Our work includes partnerships with employers, training providers, financial institutions, educational organizations, and community partners.
Through the future H.O.P.E. Center, PGA plans to significantly expand opportunities for workforce training, entrepreneurship, co-working, business incubation, and career-connected learning.
Healthy Aging & Community Wellness
Older adults are vital members of our community.
PGA creates opportunities for seniors to remain active, informed, socially connected, and engaged through wellness activities, educational programs, community resources, recreation, and intergenerational experiences.
Our broader wellness initiatives encourage residents of all ages to take an active role in improving their health and quality of life.
Community Justice & Civic Engagement
Barriers created by past involvement with the justice system can limit access to employment, housing, education, and other opportunities.
PGA has helped hundreds of individuals access expungement information and assistance designed to create pathways toward a second chance.
Our community engagement work also includes forums, voter education, resource navigation, community conversations, and opportunities for residents to participate more fully in civic and community life.

While our programs serve different populations and needs, they share one goal:
Creating Pathways To Opportunity.
A young person developing leadership skills, an adult preparing for employment, an entrepreneur building a business, a resident seeking a second chance, and a senior staying active and connected are all part of the same vision for a stronger community.
The H.O.P.E. Center will bring many of these pathways together in one permanent community hub.
